Shopping with Hoover Press is easy and safe; a secure server protects your credit card information.
Hoover Press accepts VISA and MasterCard. We also accept personal checks and money orders for mail orders. Payment must be made in U.S. dollars.
Sales tax is added only to orders delivered within California. The current sales tax rate of 8.25% will be displayed in your final shopping order at checkout, along with applicable shipping charges.
Orders are processed Monday through Friday (8 a.m.–5 p.m. PST) and are shipped within 48 hours. See shipping information for delivery options and associated costs.
No authorization is necessary. Books must be packed securely and accompanied by a complete packing list or copy of the original invoice. The packing list must refer to the original invoice number and order date. Hoover Press accepts returns three months to one year from date of purchase. Returned books must be unmarked and resalable as new. Credit will not be given for unacceptable returns. Hoover Press will hold any unacceptable returns for two months, during which time the customer may request a call tag for the books. The press must be notified of discrepancies within 45 days of the receipt of books.
Standing orders from libraries are welcome.
Nonexclusive, onetime-use photocopy permission—for classroom or conference purposes—is available on request. The press's classroom-use or conference-use fee is $0.06/page/copy. No more than one-third of any particular book may be reproduced. To request permission to photocopy or reprint materials from Hoover Institution Press, please write to Rights and Permissions Include the complete information of the requested work—author, title, sections/pages to be copied or reprinted, and number of copies to be made—along with a brief description of your project. If you would like to review a Hoover Press title for a journal or publication, please submit your request on journal or company letterhead, stating both the author and title you are requesting. If you are working under a deadline, please include that information as well.
